Courses
NAIOMT uses a case-based problem solving approach to learning. The focus is on the practical application of information, integrating it into the evaluation and management of real patient cases. This is the proven method for developing reasoning capabilities and using them to solve real problems. NAIOMT is eclectic. We don't advocate the use of one philosophy or system.
NAIOMT focuses on developing clinical reasoning skills to encourage an understanding of not only what is wrong, but why. Developing these skills makes a a wide variety of treatment approaches available. Whether you prefer manipulation and mobilization, or wish to focus more on soft-tissue techniques or neuromuscular re-education, your education with NAIOMT will make you a better therapist.
Levels 500-600 (I & II): Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT)
The 500 & 600 levels of NAIOMT go beyond entry-level education and immediately improve not only your evidence-informed evaluation and differential diagnostic skills, but your intervention skills, including thrust joint manipulation of the spine. You will quickly become more efficient as you learn how to focus on clinical reasoning and the important pieces of the evaluation. These early levels focus on the differential diagnostic examination and evidence-informed decisions to ensure that you can identify patients who require referral to other providers.
Level 700 (III): Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist (COMT)
These NAIOMT courses take you to the next level. Some of the best clinicians in the world will focus on integrating a quadrant approach into your clinical practice through the application of advanced clinical reasoning. You will learn advanced, localized, and specific spinal/peripheral manipulation techniques and focus on total patient management including education and postural adaptations. Learn to effectively manage the difficult patients that others struggle with. NAIOMT 700 level courses focuses on advanced spinal manipulation techniques for the upper and lower quadrants, including sophisticated locking techniques, specific localization, and dealing with the difficult patients that require advanced levels of clinical reasoning. Emphasis is placed on the indications and contra-indications of spinal manipulation and also teaching others how to manipulate the spine.
